Had a great week-end, besides the ankle spraining of course.....
Sine the NY trip has been put off, I still had the four days off and it felt gooooddd!
I spent about 95% of it in the kitchen doing all my Christmas baking. For some reason this year, I’ve had a little trouble with it. I NEVER burn things and twice I’ve overcooked or ruined or had something not turn out...strange. I guess I’m a little out of practice. But non the least, I’m sure no one will complain, at least no one better complain!
And I spent some nice quality time with my mum. Since I’ve started at Benefit, it’s as if we haven;t seen each other. I work night and the nights I am home she has meetings and we just keep missing each other.
We are “ships that pass in the night” as my mum says....
But this week end we spent together, eating meals together, while I was baking she was doing her Christmas cards and just hanging out together, listening to Bing in the car....Elvis too.....good times.
And today I should have gone downtown but didn’t. Rather I stayed home to finish the baking, and vacuum, clean...just to help mum out a little.
And now on Wednesday Lord of the Rings is coming out... So lucky me, I have off so Spiro, Sandra and I are supposed to go see it and I can’t wait!!!!
On Saturday-oh my god- Spiro and Sandra took me out to experience Marathons. Oh my god. It was the greatest souvlaki experience ever. From the famous marathon salad to the dollar fries (which were described to me as curly with ruffles...) The tzatziki was stupendous. Just the right amounts of tangy garlic zip and soooo wonderfully creamy and so much of it too... The salad..man that salad. The dressing was so sweet but yet tangy, a true party in my mouth. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh my mouth is watering just thinking about it....The pita was that right amount of puffy-ness and kept all the goodness warm inside....ohhhhhhhhhhh, poulet dore, I dunno if you still have the BEST souvlaki anymore, I’ll need the two Greeks to come to my hood and test it out....I think they may be pleasantly surprised, but I don;t think it’ll win over Marathon’s.
Did anyone catch Al Gore on SNL.....pretty darn funny, he seemed so into it and relaxed, unlike Tipper...who sucked....
And that was my week-end. Perfect to a T and no I must go and make cookies and stuff....
and only 3 sleeps until my sister is home....
